 Winter Circle Total Plays: 414
Winter Circle is a rock band hailing from Oklahoma City. With a dynamic blend of alternative, pop, emo, punk and indie rock influences, Kevin Dawson, Andy Hale, John Megehee & Toby Prince have created a sound which is both huge & hopeful.

Winter Circle embraced their humble beginnings with the emergence of a new blend of indie, emo, alternative pop. Gaining fans by opening up for such national acts as, Hinder, Hawthorne Heights, Sum 41 and the Exies, their music is sharp and refreshing. Beginning in early 2006 their music will be featured on MTV Real World/Road Rules. 2006 will see the release of their new EP The Huge and Hopeful produced by a Grammy award winning producer. Their music has become huge and hopeful.

Formed in the latter months of 2004, Kevin Dawson, Andy Hale, John Megehee, and Toby Prince quickly attracted local attention with the release of their first single Dont Go. The song garnered them a spot in the 94.7FM The Buzz (Clear Channel Communications) 2005 March Bandness Battle of the Bands. It weathered three weeks of internet voting by station listeners and landed the band in the top four out of over 300 entries. The band went on to win the competition after a fierce battle with three other top finalists. In front of a judging panel of record industry executives they emerged the champions. As a result of the win Dont Go was placed in regular rotation on The Buzz and the band became the official 94.7FM House Band of 2005.

The success of mainstream radio airplay had them playing to over 700 people opening for Oklahoma natives Subseven. From there they began to play to over 1,500 people opening for Sum41, Hawthorne Heights and Unwritten Law. The combined airplay with more visible local performances shot the bands website traffic up over 100,000 hits per month. Winter Circle became an established recognizable name in Oklahoma. During this time the band also earned opening slots for The Exies and guitar phenomenon Gooding.

Early 2005 the band returned to the studio to complete four songs for a limited EP release titled EP.01. By summer they began work on their sophomore independent release. This time they enlisted Grammy winning producer Eric Delegard (Bowling for Soup, Edgewater, Radial Angel and Cross Canadian Ragweed) at Reeltime Audio in Denton, TX to record a five song EP titled The Huge & Hopeful. Streetlight Flicker, the first single from this EP, was released as a preview in July and quickly received radio airplay on 94.7FM (Oklahoma City), 104.5FM (Tulsa), 102.3FM (Woodward, OK) & IROK Radio (podcast). The song will also be featured on Oklahoma Citys Medic Records first compilation CD due out later this year. Recording of this EP is in its final stages and due for release in January of 2006.

July brought good news as the band was granted a showcase performance at Tulsas own DIVERSAFEST where they performed along side such artists as Lovedrug, SouthFM & Brandon Jenkins. With this showcase performance the band earned a spot on the DFEST 2005 Compilation CD which is comprised of the very best performers that DFEST 2005 will be showcasing. 3,000 of the compilation CDs were distributed during the festival to attendees and music industry professionals.

Recently the band was granted a showcase performance at the North Texas New Music Festival and placed on standby for Bostons NEMO Festival. The band will be performing throughout the fall and completing work on The Huge & Hopeful which is slated for an Early 2006 release. Winter Circle plans to begin touring regionally in the early months of 2006 in support of The Huge & Hopeful.
